Two things I feel qualified to talk about at the moment...those are, my top interview tips that I'd like to share from my experiences over the last 12 years of interviewing people. Second, the ridiculous cost of living in Sydney, Australia..and I am from New York!
Ok, cost of living first. That seems to be top of mind lately, as I am having my first baby in July, and will be on maternity leave (without pay) for 6 months, so I'm trying to work out how I'll afford dry cleaning, diet cokes, movies, and all the other things I love. I've been living in Sydney for 2 years, and most days I still can't get over what it costs to get me through the day. Just a sample:
Diet Coke: $3.20
Dry Cleaning: $25 for 4 pieces (and that's when they have a "special")
Pedicure: $45 (obviously not a daily thing...)
Movies: Depending on the theater, about $16-$20 a ticket
Having said all that...I love living in Australia, it's a beautiful country, and we live right on the beach, and life is easy here. I just wish the salaries would catch up to the cost of living!
